Everyone has been talking about doing a gentle parenting conference/get together. I decided to take the plunge and see what type of interest there would be.

If there was a “gentle parent conference” in April in the Philadelphia area, would you be likely to show up? I can take a stab at organizing something/getting sponsors/etc if there’s enough interest. 🙂  It would be “Wait it Out”ers, breastfeeders, babywearers, gentle discipline-ers, etc.

Comment below about the feasibility of your coming/if you’d be interested in volunteering some special skill, etc. 🙂

I can do Philly in April regardless of the size. Three people in a coffee shop? I’m there. 200 people in a biggerish space? I can figure out the logistics. Just need to know who’s in so I can figure out how to do it and what type of “it” it might need to be.

What a great idea! I’d love to attend but can’t make it a Philly. Let me know if you ever plan one in TX! 🙂

Def interested and high likelihood of being able to attend; I work full time so it will likely hinge on knowing the date(s) way in advance (and it being a weekend, unless I am involved and have no work commitments–read on 🙂 ); it’s a 2 hour drive for me but doable. And, though I’m kind of scared (work-wise) to commit fully at this point, if “it” becomes big enough to warrant speakers/discussions/events surrounding many topics related to gentle parenting, I may be able to organize something around working motherhood (willing to for sure; have to make sure my plate is not overfull though before committing fully though–you can add me to the list of potential volunteers tho and we’ll see how things shake out) 🙂

I would love to do this! My daughter will be almost a year at that point. We live about 4 hours from Philadelphia, so it would be quite a trek and possibly hard to do, especially with my daughter being so young still in the car seat on such a long ride, but I would love to come and see if we couldn’t do it. Would it be for only one day?

I would love to come if I could get a good price on a flight! I’m also a doula and sell essential oils so I could talk about either of those things or volunteer in some other way.

Rachel–see my post comment above 🙂 my guess is Sarah will put us in touch (eventually). It’s exciting to know there are other working-gentle mamas out there 🙂

I’m also available to speak. Any # of things…working full time with 3 kids, cosleeping with multiple children, having unsupportive family, etc. etc. I public speak for work so not a problem at all if you’d want me to. Not an expert but could definitely contribute some.

I live 45 min north of Philly so this would be great! Cant fully commit at this point but I would do anything to make it happen for me to be there. My husband works in Philly…maybe I can bring him with me. Haha, joking about bringing him…he would never! 🙂 not that he doesn’t support the “cause”, just because being with a bunch of ladies who talk nonstop about babies, breastfeeding and velcro babies would bore him to death. 🙂

Would definitely be there (dad in Philly area). And I would love to speak- about breastfeeding in general, BFing beyond 2yo, depression, WOH parenting where both parents work full-time, kid in daycare, and still gentle/WIO/cosleep and all that.

Sounds cool! I doubt I’d make it there though… Maybe if you made it part mini trade show? I’m sure there are lots of people selling cool stuff who would rent booth space!

I would absolutely be interested, and would also be interested in speaking-probably somethig relating to perinatal healthcare options or about breastfeeding support and promotion resources.
    Thanks!

I could theoretically. My mother is in South Jersey and I would love to go to a conference like this. But, if it’s on or near Passover, that would be a challenge (don’t know offhand when that is in 2014), and I don’t know what my work schedule will be like by then, plus other things. I am in the maybe, would certainly try camp.

It was postponed due to a plethora of life-stuff that got moved to this year. 🙂 I definitely want to look into doing this, though!
